The Dawson Law Firm received a verdict in the amount of $750,000 following a trial for damages arising out of a wrinkle filler lawsuit for negligence arising out of the administration of a popular wrinkle filler, Restylane injection from a local South Florida Med Spa.

A verdict resulted from the trial of the cause in the amount of $750,000.00

The Plaintiff has sustained a disfigurement under her left eye. Also, she suffered from twitching, and some loss of vision.  The  injection was not properly supervised and was injected in a negligent fashion. The Plaintiff testified of loss of enjoyment of life arising out of her embarrassment because of the disfigurement and tearing from her eye.

Wrinkle Filler Lawsuits are Becoming More Common

Wrinkle fillers are injectable medical implants that are used to fill in fine lines and wrinkles, make cheeks, lips appear fuller and smooth sagging skin.  Around 2008, an FDA advisory panel met to discuss whether to increase warning labels for wrinkle filling products. The panel was concerned because 930 unfavorable occurrences were reported between 2004 and 2008.  The Wrinkle Filler side effects included blindness, permanent disfigurement, infection or stroke.

Wrinkle Fillers Need Stronger Warnings

Injectables, wrinkle fillers, and derma fillers are some of the popular ways to facilitate anti-aging. However, they can cause many serious issues including blindness, strokes, and necrosis when they are injected accidentally into blood vessels. Also, some products have been linked to causing hard lumps and nodules on the face, and also have been connected to causing life threatening complications.
