Cristy Barnes is a Managing Director at Lighthouse Capital Partners, a private venture debt fund which provides capital to early stage information technology and life science companies. Cristy led the firm’s health care practice with a primary focus on companies in life sciences, medical devices, and healthcare information technology. Since 2002, she has sponsored over 60 companies totaling more than $450 million in commitments. Key investments include: Avid (acquired by Eli Lilly), Bipar (acquired by Sanofi), Novacardia (acquired by Merck) and Kythera.

Prior to joining Lighthouse, Cristy spent two years on the venture equity side of the world as a Senior Associate at Highland Capital Partners. Before that, she spent five years at Robertson Stephens in the Internet Equity Research Group.

With a total of 22-years of public and private equity investing experience, Cristy most enjoys working with passionate entrepreneurs that are attempting to change the world for the better. Having been featured in a venture debt case study for Harvard Business School, Cristy often moonlights as a guest speaker at various business schools around the country.

Cristy graduated from University of California, Los Angeles, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Business.
